Fort Worth Engagement Portraits | Cody and Krista

Kim Hayes Photography is so excited to be documenting Cody and Krista’s wedding photography!!! Courtnee did an amazing job with these pictures 🙂 They are the sweetest couple and I LOVE the story of how they met (especially since their were puppies involved). Check out Krista’s account (WARNING you may need a kleenex):

“After many prayers asking God to send “The One”, my prayers were answered in the most unique way. While I was in my last semester of nursing school, I had to interview someone I did not know and ask them “What do you think a nurse is?”. So I turned to LinkedIn and stumbled upon the profile of a young gentleman with his super cute, twelve-week old puppy. And that is where it all started. I messaged this gentleman asking him if I could interview him for a paper I had to write for nursing school. He said he would love to help, so I began asking my questions. I was amazed at how he answered the questions saying that a nurse should be the hands and feet of Jesus. I thanked him for answering my questions and told him his answers were absolutely amazing. He asked me if we could stay in touch and become friends. After keeping in touch for some time, texting and talking on the phone for hours on end, he finally got the courage to ask if we could have have a puppy play date with both of our pups (Of course I said yes…because…well, I’m kind of obsessed with cute puppies).  On September 10th he and his adorable puppy came to Abilene, Texas from San Angelo, Texas and we met in person for the first time. Our puppies immediately began playing together and we couldn’t stop smiling, laughing, and getting to know one another better. While I was in the kitchen he asked if he could read something that he had never read to anyone before and he started reading a letter titled “To My Future Wife” and I started bawling. Everything that he had written in this letter was all and more of what I wanted in a husband. I looked up at God and said, “Is he the one?” and then I had a strong feeling rush over me of God telling me that he was the one. Once he finished the letter we were both in tears, and we looked at one another and said “Are you the one?”.  At that moment we fell to our knees and knew that we had found each other and that God had answered all of our prayers and is continuing to answer our prayers. We fell in love fast, like we had known each other forever. I will never forget the way we looked at each other in my apartment (#1711 to be exact) when we both knew we had finally found one another. God continued to work in our lives and in our relationship. On February 20th I was told we were going to take family pictures, and to my surprise the pictures were really a proposal. He got down on one knee on my grandparent’s land by an old barn and asked me to be his wife with the most BEAUTIFUL ring and of course I cried and said YES! But the surprises were not over. We went to a garden café to have lunch where 35 of our closest family and friends were waiting each holding a red rose for me (He even got my best friend of 16 years to drive in from Alabama and I cried, yet again…Bonus Points in my book). The amount of love and support was overwhelming. God has truly blessed our relationship and His goodness abounds.”
