Last night we held our first Pursuit Community Dallas/ Fort Worth Gathering. Five ladies and I met at my home and we had some great conversations! I have to say that I was a little anxious about leading this event (this was my first one), but when I met each woman and saw how much we have in common, it was easy to relate to and instantly connect with each of them 🙂
For those of you who don’t know what Pursuit Community is, we are a Christian community of creative entrepreneurs – more specifically photographers, bloggers / writers, shop owners, calligraphers, and graphic designers – dedicated to cultivating the art of community and building the Kingdom of God as He uses us in our families, neighborhoods, and the world. We have many groups around the United States, Canada and the Philippines. If you are a woman in any of these categories and would like to learn more about Pursuit Community, visit our Facebook group page @ https://www.facebook.com/groups/pursuit31/ and check the directory for a group in your area.
We all sat around my coffee table, in front of the fireplace, and introduced ourselves. We had some really long introductions, but I feel like we really got to know each other. We shared our backgrounds: where each of us were coming from, and where we want to go in our lives. It was beautiful to see how God has been working in and through each of these women and their businesses.
I asked each of the ladies to choose a Word for 2015. I did this last year and found it very helpful in directing my choices and focusing on a direction, rather than setting an overwhelming list of goals. I handed out worksheets where they could write their words and jot down ideas. Each lady shared their Word for 2015, why they chose it and things got pretty personal. Our words were: Light, Brave, Fearless, Committed, Patient and Led or Guided by God.
I felt a genuine connection with each of these creative ladies and am looking forward to getting to know them better! I know this is what Pursuit Community is all about and I am excited to see what God does through this group in 2015.
Our next gathering will be February 3rd. Check out this link for more details and to RSVP: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/pursuit-community-dallasfort-worth-february-gathering-tickets-15104989430
