I had never bought a real tree before, so David and I went to Lowes. I was so excited!!! After picking up and inspecting about fifteen trees (David would hold it up and spin it around and then we would switch places), we decided this one was the best. It was a lot easier than I expected, we carried it to the front, they trimmed a few branches and wrapped it up. 

Since David and I love Kenya so much, we decided to make custom African inspired onaments with the help of my friend Katina. We bought safari scrapbooking paper, vintage bottle caps, frosted glass ball ornaments and pulled out a bunch of little trinkets that we brought back from past trips to Kenya. I love how they turned out, and we got a tree that is totally unique:)
