I always knew that I wanted to do something creative! I went to college and earned an art degree. I even worked for two different photographers, where I learned a lot about the business side of things, but always thought I would go into design. It wasn’t until my first trip to Kenya in 2009, when missionary Chris Moore gave me his camera and asked if I would document our trip, that I realized how powerful a photo could be and I quickly fell in love with photography!

My husband David bought me a nice camera for my birthday, about a month after we returned. He encouraged me and told me that I was talented and had an eye for photography. I knew that God was leading me to open Kim Hayes Photography and started booking weddings, family photos and senior portraits soon after that.

The past few years have been a whirlwind of wonderful clients and David was even able to leave his job of nearly 15 years. As the end of March will be Kim Hayes Photography’s 9 year anniversary, we are currently in transition to working for REAL 4 Christ Ministries full time, but our photography income is what is paying our bills and allowing us to manage the child sponsorship program and lead teams to Kenya! I love the doors that photography has opened in my life 🙂
