What I’ve been up to

I feel bad that I haven’t blogged in such a long time:) Here is what I’ve been up to:
David and I went to Guatemala on a missions trip…

Guatemala is one of the most beautiful places that I have ever seen. Every where you look there are mountains and volcanoes. Driving around the country side, all I could say was wow! I also met some of the sweetest children at the MANNA Worldwide feeding centers and orphanages. It was a lot of fun getting to use some of the spanish that I learned in high school and college. (Hello, what is your name?  Hola! Como se llama?)

On the weekend that we returned from Guatemala, I was able to squeeze in a family and this engagement session! Justin is a long time friend of mine:) We went to Kenya together on a missions trip a couple of years ago. I am so happy for him and his fiancé! They make a really cute couple.

The next week, we drove to Kansas to shoot (another friend that went to Kenya with us) Maddison’s wedding! There were so many gorgeous details!!!! I love the venue that she chose. The wedding was outdoors and the reception was in a beautiful hundred year old barn. Everything was perfect!

Last weekend I had the opportunity to shoot Kayce’s bridal portraits at the Japanese Gardens! It had rained all morning, but just in time for the photo shoot, the sun began to shine. Kayce was so beautiful. I can’t wait for the wedding next month so that I can share her photos.

Sunday, (I just realized that there is a common theme throughout this post because Hillary went to Kenya with me too, on my first trip to Africa) I had the privilege of shooting Hillary and Tyler’s engagement portraits! This was a very special shoot for me because:
1. This is a special location to me, because this is where David and I had our engagement portraits made.
2. Hillary is a good friend and David and I were finally able to meet her fiancé.
3. Hillary and I both have a special connection between butterflies and God and butterflies were everywhere. Hillary said, “it’s like God is saying he is a special part of our engagement.”
I had a great time shooting their photos! I can’t wait to share them:)
